About

Joshua Barton

Founder, Barton Advisory Group

Two decades of building, advising and investing

Joshua Barton is the founder of Barton Advisory Group, based in Murrieta, California. His career has run through professional sports, entrepreneurship, small-business consulting and private deal analysis, all of which shape a practical, owner’s-eye view of money.

As Chair of the Board of the Murrieta Valley Cemetery District, a California special district, Joshua helps govern a public agency and has personally reviewed the District’s investments and taken part in its investment calls. He has completed AB 1234 ethics and Brown Act training.

On the private side, he has completed more than ten deal analyses for a high-net-worth principal in Los Angeles. Those reviews include a self-storage investment that moved forward and remains in good standing, and two acquisitions he recommended against after reviewing the financials. He has also advised business owners across Southern California on operations, financial performance and growth.

Before that, Joshua played professional soccer from 2003 to 2010, then founded a youth and adult sports-performance business and, in 2011, Axiom Events, an experiential marketing firm whose partners have included the LA Lakers, LA Dodgers, Nike, Beats by Dre and the Pechanga Band of Indians.

Joshua passed the Series 65 examination in 2026 and is in the process of affiliating with a fee-only registered investment adviser. His approach is grounded in sound-money principles: discipline over prediction, protecting capital first, and planning for decades rather than quarters.

A Temecula Valley resident since 2008, he volunteers as a youth sports coach and is raising his family in Murrieta.
